Last Wednesday, parents and students that attended Fifth Grade Family
Fun Night practiced Edutyping, created a bow, played a math game, and
were treated with root-beer floats. Technology is becoming more and more
important in today's world and the students are expected to be able to
type a complete essay in one sitting by the end of the year. Kids got a
chance to show their typing skills to their parents and then the parents
got to try. We then asked the everyone to work in teams to create a bow
that would shoot an arrow the furthest distance. STEM (Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Math) was the theme for this activity and
students will get to finish this project during our October late start.
We then headed to the gym for a Quiz-Quiz-Trade Math game. Parents were
surprised at how hard this can be at first. Lastly everyone was treated
with root-beer floats to show the 3 states of matter: solid, liquid, and
gas. We hope everyone had a great time!
REMINDERS!!!!
Please keep sending Sunny D labels, Box Tops, and G&W receipts.
Quote of the Week
“When life gets you down, want to know what you’ve gotta do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”
~Dory, Finding Nemo~
