Quote of the Week
“When life gets you down, want to know what you’ve gotta do? Just keep swimming, just keep swimming.”
~Dory, Finding Nemo~
I'm convinced of this: Good done anywhere is good done everywhere. For a change, start by speaking to people rather than walking by them like they're stones that don't matter. As long as you're breathing, it's never too late to do some good. Maya Angelou

5th Grade Explorers
My class just finished up a Native Americans Unit in Social Studies and now we are starting Explorers. To get them excited about early explorers, they became explorers too! We went into the outdoor classroom and imagined that we were the first people there. They took notes in their Explorer Journals and drew sketches of what they saw. It was a perfect 75 degree February day! The kids found raccoon tracks, rabbit droppings, a crawdad, cattails, trees budding and much more. Please click on the picture below to watch a short video of their adventure!

January
In the month of January, 5th grade students were kept busy learning about their own state of KANSAS! They practiced with their teams and competed in a Kansas Quiz Bowl Tournament. Students also learned about quilting from Judy Dunn, antiques from Mrs. Hosack and traveled to the Greenwood County Historical Society Museum.
